1857 is 1946 Indian Bollywood (Hindi Language) Historical Drama film. 1857 is directed by Mohan Sinha and produced by M. Zahur and the story is written by Dr Safdar Aah Sitapuri & M. Zahur. Its star cast are Surendra & Suraiya in the lead roles. Story of the film is based on the "Indian Rebellion of 1857", which is also known as the "First War of Independence". Film did very well at Indian box office and also recovered its total budget and made decent amount of profit. It was the fifth highest grossing Indian film of 1946.
