1947 Earth is 1999 Indian Bollywood (Hindi Language) Romantic Drama film. 1947 Earth is directed by Deepa Mehta and produced by Deepa Mehta & Anne Masson and the story is written by Deepa Mehta. Its star cast are Aamir Khan, Rahul Khanna & Nandita Das in the lead roles. This is the second installment of "Elements Trilogy" film series. First Installment is "Fire", released in 1996 and the third installment is "Water", released in 2005. Story of a film is based on novel "Cracking India" by Bapsi Sidhwa and the novel was published in 1991. Movie marks the acting debut of Rahul Khanna. Film did not performed well at Indian box office and even did not recovered its total budget.
