Black is 2005 Indian Bollywood (Hindi Language) Drama film. Black is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali & Anshuman Swami and the story is written by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhavani Iyer & Prakash Kapadia. Its star cast are Amitabh Bachchan & Rani Mukerji in the lead roles. Story of a film was inspired by the life of Helen Keller, who was the blind author, lecturer and activist. Movie is an unofficial remake of American film "The Miracle Worker", released in 1962.
Movie won three awards in National Film Awards, such as "Best Feature Film in Hindi" and "Best Actor: Amitabh Bachchan". Film did well at Indian box office and also recovered its total budget and made a decent amount of profit. It was the ninth highest grossing Indian film of 2005.
