Dabangg is 2010 Indian Bollywood (Hindi Language) Action Comedy film. Dabangg is directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora & Dhillin Mehta and the story is written by Abhinav Kashyap & Dilip Shukla. Its star cast are Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Vinod Khanna, Dimple Kapadia, Anupam Kher & Mahie Gill. The film marks the debut of Sonakshi Sinha as an Actress, Arbaaz Khan as a Producer and Abhinav Kashyap as a Director. This is the first installment of Dabangg film series/ franchise. Second installment is "Dabangg 2", released in 2012 and the third installment is "Dabangg 3", released in 2019. Dabangg also has a two remades, one in Tamil as "Osthe", released in 2011 and in Telugu as "Gabbar Singh", released in 2012. Movie was also dubbed in Tamil, Telugu & Kannada.
Film also won one award in National Film Awards, which is "Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment" won by Malaika Arora, Arbaaz Khan & Dhillin Mehta. Film did very well at Indian box office and also recovered its total budget and made huge amount of profit. It was the first highest grossing film of 2010.
